Ahmet Barut
CHAIRMAN OF THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS
Ahmet Barut was born in 1963 in Antalya, and is a member of the Barut family, one of those who paved the way for development of hotel management, is the manager of Barut Hotel Group, which has been operating in the industry for more than 40 years.
After graduating from high school in Antalya, he studied German at the Goethe Institute in Vienna, from 1981 to 1983. After returning to Türkiye, he graduated from the Department of English, providing foreign languages education, at the Faculty of Letters of Istanbul University, in 1987.
Since 1987, he has been engaged in hotel management, which is his family profession.
In addition to hotel management, he was the chairman of the board of directors of the Mediterranean Touristic Hoteliers and Operators Association (AKTOB) from 1999 to 2003, and served as the founding chairman of the Turkish Hoteliers Federation (TUROFED) for 7 years, as of 2004.
Ahmet Barut is the Chairman of the Board of Directors of Lara Barut and Acanthus&Cennet Barut hotels. He has also been the Honorary Consul of Austria in Antalya since 2009, and received the Medal of Honor of the Republic of Austria.
Ahmet Barut is married with 2 children, and has a good command of English and German.
